Read the Complete History of
The Old Brewery Building
The building was built by a German Brewer in 1865.
***
Prohibition and economic depression turned it into a soda pop factory in
1873.
***
Around 1900 it was converted into residential living spaces.
***
Many immigrants called the brewery home until 1970 when, sadly, the
building was condemned.
***
In 1975 the current owner John Hollowell purchased the building and began
renovating.
***
We say "began" because Mr. Hollowell is always adding unique touches
to this unique and historic Kerrytown gem.
